RapidDataImport from Cortona3D offers users the ability to import certain native CAD formats into the Cortona3D Rapid tools. Direct connection of CAD design data with the Rapid applications improves the accuracy and speed of import, streamlining the process from design to documentation. RapidDataImport allows access to metadata contained in the CAD, which can then be incorporated into the resulting 3D documentation. Initial formats supported are CATIA V4 and V5, Pro/ENGINEER
A new package providing the ability to publish output as 3D Adobe® PDF compatible files. The 3D output is published from the Cortona3D Rapid tools to a user defined Adobe PDF template. The ability to edit these Adobe PDF templates is included with the RapidPDF module. View and interact with the 2D and 3D output using Adobe Acrobat®.

Cortona3D RapidManual/RapidLearning v. 1.13.
New licensing procedure
• The software can now only bе used with appropriate evaluation or permanent node-locked license.
Enhancement of the Object gallery
• Ability to add new custom objects (standard bolts, nuts, support equipment, etc.) to the gallery.
• Tab support: a set of objects with similar features can be grouped in a separate tab.
• Ability to Export/Import gallery objects.
Extension of the Object gallery
• New objects allow for controlling the lighting in the scene and creating information panels that can contain graphical images or texts.
Ability to cancel the last selection
• In case of multiple selections, the last selection operation made in Scene Tree or Scene List and 3D windows now can be canceled.
A step-by-step selection in 3D
• A 3D selection option allows you to select the parent item by clicking its child item in the 3D View window. This allows you to navigate up the Scene Tree hierarchy until the last parent item of the hierarchy is achieved.
Improvements in Merge Assembly
• Now the Merge Assembly command keeps the material properties of the assembly parts.
Cortona3D RapidCatalog v. 2.5
New licensing procedure
• The software can now only bе used with appropriate evaluation or permanent node-locked license.
Support for ATA and S1000D specifications
• The parts catalogs can now be created in accordance with ATA iSpec 2200 Engine Illustrated Parts Catalog (EIPC) and S1000D Issue 2.1 Illustrated Parts Data (IPD).
Animated transitions between the pages
• Marking the pages as intermediate allows for creating multi-step animated transitions between the IPC pages. Intermediate pages are not accessible in the final IPC.
Radial Explosion

Release date: 23rd October 2006
RapidManual and RapidLearning
- previously known as Virtual Manual Editor (VME) /Virtual Training Editor (VTE) 1.12.
National language support
You can now type the text of labels and procedure descriptions directly in national language characters with the exception of languages that require a double-byte character set (Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Korean, etc.).
A new object library
A new library allows you to add labels, dimensions lines, hoses, ropes, and other similar objects to your simulations. These objects can be added to the scene tree and used the same as other parts of the model.
Improved geometry trimming
The area to be trimmed can be easily modified using a 3D manipulator. Additional options allow for cutting the parts outside or inside the specified area. The settings of the trim operation can be saved and applied to other representations and parts of the model.
New options for describing procedures
More detailed description of the procedure can be created, including separate commenting on each substep (action union). The text of the procedure can be formatted - font, size, color, bullets, indents, etc. This text can then be used in a Web page, which will display 3D simulation and textual description synchronously.
Improved data exchange
A compressed archive of projects can easily be created for sharing with other VM Product Family users and for archival storage.
New preview option
Define the viewing screen layout for 3D simulations and switch between this and the working layout to preview how objects that depend on the proportions of the 3D window (e.g. labels) will look in the final simulation.
Ability to display custom logo in 3D models
Specify a custom logo to be displayed in the 3D window of the application.
Other changes
Ability to select the axes type is now included (previously available in Virtual Manual Publisher).
Publisher (previously known as: Virtual Manual Publisher(VMP) 1.3.
Localization of the user interface
All tooltips and command names are stored in a separate file and can be easily translated into other languages.

Allow you to specify how the simulation is performed:
- Start the simulation automatically after loading
- Looped play of the simulation.
Additional settings for displaying procedure description
Allow you to customize the look of the procedure description:
- Show/hide description of substeps
- Switch on/off auto-numbering of steps.
Important changes
